Substitute Bus Monitor

On Call - As Needed

Start Date:  Immediately

OPEN UNTIL FILLED

Summary:  Assists the bus driver in the safe operation of the bus.

Qualifications:

1.   Possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

2.   One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3.   Ability to maintain neatness of person and display an attitude of friendliness, courtesy, respect, and cooperation toward others.

4.   Ability to push, pull, or lift weight in excess of 50 pounds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.   Rides on the bus routes and monitors student behavior.

2.   Assist students with loading on and off the bus.

3.   Assists the driver with all safety and student behavioral issues.

4.   Files written reports when incidents out of the ordinary occur on the bus.

5.   Assists children with basic first aid when they are ill or injured on the bus.

6.   Attends safety meetings.

7.   Completes required trainings.

8.   Performs other related duties as assigned.
