Terms and Benefits: 12 month position, 8 hours/day; medical, dental, vision, life benefits; 403(b); accrued sick and vacation days; paid holidays; preschool/child care discounts; mandatory participation in Arizona State Retirement System.

 

Summary: Assists in the operation of the childcare program in conformance with institutional regulations and state day care licensing provisions. Provides quality care and nurtures an environment that allows children to develop to their potential with engaging activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Clearly and effectively, articulate the philosophies and goals of the childcare program.
  • Greet families, visitors and staff in a professional manner.
  • Support effective and professional communication with parents, staff and community.
  • Assist with registration, data entry, invoicing and payment processing.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records on children’s development, attendance, health and behavior.
  • Support daily office operations, including filing, copying, scheduling and managing supplies.
  • Promote a safe, positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Assist with implementing policies and regulations from agencies such as the Arizona Department of Child Care Licensing, Department of Economic Security and district policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment where children are safe, nurtured, and valued.
  • Assist with supervising children and maintaining ratios.
  • Support positive and consistent behavior strategies across different settings.
  • Assist students with emotional regulation and transitions.
  • Reinforce social-emotional learning skills to foster a supportive classroom environment.
  • Provide calm redirection during behavioral incidents.
  • Participate in meetings and trainings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 12 months of child care experience
  • N.A.C, C.D.A. or C.C.P credential or higher education preferred

ABILITIES Ability to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in working with computers and other types of technology.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to listen and obtain clarification. Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to students, parents, employees, and members of the community. Ability to write activity/lesson plans, routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with students who have special needs.

 

CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS Ability to manage difficult or emotional student or customer situations. Responds promptly to customer needs, solicits feedback to improve service. Responds to requests for service and assistance. Meets commitments.
